After completing a coaching session today with one of my clients, I was going over my notes and saw the words "building blocks and ripples". We had been talking about actions for her to take over the next few weeks, and how some of those actions would lead to changes in what she does, how she does them and to new relationships, too.

In this example, the building blocks relate to new skills, behaviors and knowledge. The ripples relate to expansion in her capabilities and performance, along with her network. I thought this image expressed this concept pretty well.

I love zen gardens, so I'm a sucker for an image like this. The saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words" seems to fit well in this example.
