Discover Your Strengths
When I was a kid, there were a few friends that knew exactly what they wanted to be when they grew up.
They were a minority, because most people really don't know what they want to do or be, and for many, it changes during their lifetime. How many people do you know that went to college and got a degree that they never used?
A few years ago I came across the Strengths Finder assessment, which is designed to help people uncover their talents and help steer them toward a career where those talents can be put into practice. It's not perfect, but when I took the assessment, it was amazing how well it described me.
If you are looking for an easy, inexpensive way to determine your strengths and how you might apply them, I suggest giving this a try. When you buy the book, you are given a code that enables you to take the online assessment. There are about 150 questions (give or take a few), so it takes some time to get through it. Be sure to answer the questions honestly. Once complete, you'll get a detailed report.
