Confidence in leaders is at a 10-year-low, according to the 2008-2009 Global Leadership Forecast, a bi-annual study conducted by Development Dimensions International (DDI).

Podcast #3: Management vs. Leadership--Is there a difference?
Why do some companies use the term "management" while others use "leadership" to refer to the same thing? Is there a difference? The answer is YES and NO.
Today these terms are used interchangeably. I've worked with many managers that showed little leadership, and I have also worked with many in leadership roles that couldn't manage a sidewalk bake sale. Amazing Leaders need to do BOTH.
Another "Clean Up Your Digital Presence" post
My first blog post was titled "Check Your MySpace and Facbook Pages" because prospective employers do something simple when they consider you for a job--they do a Google search on your name.
So what should you do? Do what recruiters do--Google your name and see what is found. If there is something that is embarrasing, unflattering or unprofessional, do what you can to clean it up. Read more here...

Thinking ouside the box
Here's an example of thinking outside the box...
Today, most companies have a budget for computer equipment, and most have a standard make and model to use. Some are Macs, some are PCs (to coin a phrase).
What if you needed a new computer and your boss told you that you could buy anything you wanted, as long as it cost less than $2100? Would that make you feel better about where you worked?
